GRANGER, IN - Scott Osthimer, 63, of Granger passed away after a brief illness on Monday, June 3 at home surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born September 26, 1955 in Baltimore, MD to Barbara J. (Kaupp) and Robert B. Osthimer and was a lifetime area resident.

Scott is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joddi S. Osthimer (Bell); his mother; and his brother, Douglas Osthimer (Susan Devetski) of Granger. He was preceded in death by his father.

Scott adored his wife Joddi, whom he affectionately referred to as his “bride”. He was a “home body” relishing time with his family including all of his nieces and nephews. Scott looked forward to spending time in northern Michigan at the family cottage with extended family and friends.

Scott volunteered in many community organizations including Southold Dance Theater, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and mentored elementary school students. Scott was very well known for his role in the annual production of the Nutcracker Ballet, performing roles including the popular Russian Dance. Scott worked in the printing industry for 40 years including time in the family business, Osthimer, Inc. and subsequently at Rink Printing. Scott always focused on customer service, catering to details well beyond the print layouts and proofs, often treating them to donuts and specialty potato chips.

Memorial Services to celebrate Scott's life will be held on July 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, 115 S. Francis St. followed by a luncheon at the church. The family will receive friends in the church prior to the service from 10:00 until 10:45.
