New Carlisle – Andrew "Andy" Riffel, 78, passed away at 1:21 am, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Memorial Hospital. Andy was born September 21, 1943, in South Bend, IN, to the late Arthur and Lucille (Sobecki) Riffel. On October 28, 1967, Andy married the love of his life, Lillian (Shuppert) Riffel, who preceded him in death on September 9, 2021.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Riffel.

Left to cherish Andy's memory are his daughter, Andrea (Tim) Stack; granddaughter, Madeline Stack; sisters, Helen Chavanne and Colleen (Noel) Swanson; and many nieces, nephews, great & great-great nieces & nephews, and cousins. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Andy" to everyone. He was the best dad and grandpa and will be missed greatly.

Andy owned and operated Riffel Electric Company for many years, and still maintained an electrician's license. He graduated from the then Washington Clay High School in 1961. He honorably served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Andy was a member of the American Legion, and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Ushers Club and parish at St. Stanislaus Kostka in New Carlisle. He was an avid collector of classic cars, trains, and lots of older "STUFF".

A Graveside Service will be held at Porter-Rea Cemetery in Potato Creek State Park on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:30am followed by a gathering at the Tulip Poplar Recreation Building. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family.
