LINDSAY (SOBOL) THOMPSON

Lindsay A. Thompson, 31, of Lafayette, IN died unexpectedly at 11:14 am Sunday, May 10th, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette, IN. She was born September 3, 1983 in South Bend, IN the daughter of Edward M. and Dawn D. Baney Sobol.

She graduated in 2001 from Clay High School, South Bend and received her bachelor's degree from Purdue in genetics in 2005. On May 20, 2006, she married S. Shane Thompson at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lafayette, IN.

She worked at the Purdue University Student Health center as a med tech and was previously employed with Alverno Labs, QuadraSpec, and Cook Biotech. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and served as a board member with the Greater Lafayette Dog Park Association. Lindsay enjoyed cooking, gardening, Colts football and tailgating, music, live concerts and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed time spent with her "baby", her German Shepherd, Colt. She was a wonderfully free-spirited, compassionate, sweet, and kind soul that loved life, people, and animals with all of her heart. She was a woman who touched everyone she met and had an unbelievable true heart of gold full of love.

She is survived by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Adam L. (wife Jennifer) Sobol of Knox, IN, and Michael M. (wife Danielle) Sobol, of Breman, IN, nieces and nephews Addison, Connor, Natalie, Emmalee, and soon-to-arrive baby niece. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Shannon Thompson of Lafayette, mother-in-law and father-in-law Carole and Steve Thompson and grand-mother-in-law Rosalie Martin all of Lafayette.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 17th, from 3 to 7 pm in the Chapel at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1718 W. 350 N., West Lafayette, IN with a prayer service there at 2:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on May 18th 2015, in St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Dominic Young officiating. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Greater Lafayette Dog Park Association in Lindsay's name.
