SOUTH BEND - Sara L. “Sally” (Mowers) Dahms, 83, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 8:49 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, in Hospice House.
Sally was born on Dec. 18, 1931, in South Bend, to Bert Soule Mowers and Dorothy (Pascoe) Mowers, and was a lifelong resident. She retired from the Bendix Corporation. Sally is survived by three daughters, Janet (Tim) Reiter, Karen (Doug) Geehring and Sharon Babkoff, all of South Bend, Indiana; two sons, Michael Dahms and Patrick (Michele) Dahms, both of South Bend, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Adam (Christina) Dahms, Jared (Bridget) Dahms, Courtney Dahms, Sara (James) Farmer, Al Babkoff, Zach Reiter and Jessi (Bryan Horvath) Reiter; and seven greatgrandchildren, Jamie, Jacan, J.J., Harley, Haven, Cayden, and “almost here,” Daphne. Sally was preceded by death by her parents, Bert and Dorothy Mowers; one son, Timothy Scott Dahms; and one sister, Patricia Lowe.
A Memorial Visitation will take place from 4:00 until 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. Sally donated her body to the I.U. School of Medicine.
Sally enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was the light of her children’s lives. Sally enjoyed watching basketball, especially LeBron James.
