SOUTH BEND - Robert William Groves, 59, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:45 pm Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Memorial Hospital. He was born in South Bend on September 8, 1952 to Donald Ellis and Wanda Mae (Myers) Groves, and remained a lifelong area resident.

On September 14, 2003 in South Bend, Robert married the former Donna Cox, who survives. In addition to his wife, Donna, of South Bend, Robert is survived by his mother, Wanda Mae Groves of South Bend; three stepsons, Billy, Jerry and Danny Dameron, all of Elkhart; five step grandchildren; one sister, Pamela (Robert) Spence of South Bend; and one brother, Richard A. Groves of Chicago.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Donald, and his brother Lawrence. Robert graduated from Clay High School in 1970 and then served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He was previously employed with Gurley Leep Automotive in the Parts Department.
