James E. Merrill
December 31, 1933 ~ January 29, 2024 (age 90)
James E. Merrill, 90, of South Bend passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, January 29, 2024.
On September 27, 1958, James married Alice E. Seder and they spent 65 wonderful years together raising their children and enjoying life. James is survived by his wife, Alice Merrill, daughter, Betty (Mark) Scott of Rochester, Indiana, son James (Tina) Merrill of South Bend and sister Mary Jane (Lynne) Andrews. James is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Center of Hospice Care and Victoria for her attentiveness and the special care she gave.
Funeral Services for James will be held at 12:00 pm. Friday, February 2, 2024, at Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel 17033 Cleveland Rd. South Bend, IN 46635. Friends may visit with family from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
