SOUTH BEND - Damian John Gick, 41, residing in South Bend, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012, at home. He was born in South Bend on October 17, 1971, to the late Desmond John and Marilyn (Lisack) Gick, and remained a lifelong area resident.

Damian graduated from Clay High School and then earned his Associate Degree in Computer Technology from Ivy Tech Community College in South Bend, where his father was a professor for over 30 years prior to his death. Damian was a member of the First Unitarian Church in South Bend.

Damian is survived by his maternal grandfather, J.P. (Sue) Lisack of Lafayette, IN; paternal grandmother, Ena Gick of Lafayette, IN; maternal aunts, Diana (John) Jurss of North Carolina and Karen (David) Miller of Louisville, KY; paternal aunt, Kathy (Malcolm) Southern of Franklin, TN; paternal uncle, Anthony (Carol) Gick of Michigan; and several cousins.

Memorial services for Damian will be 11:00 am Friday, November 30, 2012, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Interim Minister Sian Wiltshire will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy on behalf of Damian may be offered to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544; or to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
