Sherry M. (Bays) Ewing
December 7, 1951 ~ March 17, 2023 (age 71)
Sherry M. Ewing, of Niles, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the age of 71. She was born to John W. and Joan (Wettergren) Bays on December 7, 1951 in South Bend. Sherry was a 1971 Clay High School graduate and remained a lifelong resident of the area.
She is survived by her mother; Joan Bays, daughter; Carie Ewing of South Bend, sons; Scott (Jody) Ewing of Osceola, and Robert “Kenny” Tschida of South Bend, along with her grandson; Scottie (Britini) Ewing, and 3 great grandchildren; Cory, Leah, Kensli. She also leaves behind a brother; John (Robin) Bays Niles, Mi. She was preceded in death by her father, John William Bays and her brother, Don (Pork) Bays.
Sherry was a loving daughter, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family and friends. She had a kind heart and loved talking and spending time with everyone she met, and she had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She enjoyed spending time at the Niles Senior Center over the years.
Funeral services for Sherry will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
