John A. Lindzy, 51, of Weber Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy battle with kidney disease. John was born Jan. 23, 1952, in South Bend, to the late Ralph G. and Beryl I. (Weinberg) Lindzy, and was a lifetime area resident.

He is survived by five brothers, William (Sandra) Lindzy of Kona, Hawaii, Robert Lindzy, Jack (Nancy) Lindzy and Dick (Judy) Lindzy, all of South Bend, and Thomas (Debbie) Lindzy of Granger, Ind.; his favorite aunt, Norma Young of South Bend; and by several nieces and nephews. He had been employed as a sales clerk at the former Richman Brothers Clothing Store and J.C. Penney Company, and most recently with his brother Dick at Factory Tile in Roseland.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Ronald Drake of Forestbrook Missionary Church officiating. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory, South Bend, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

Friends may call in the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana, 911 E. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46240.
