David John McCann, 60 years old, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  David was born on August 21, 1962 in South Bend to the late James W. and Dolores (Wozniak) McCann.  He has been a lifelong resident of South Bend.  David started his career in the restaurant industry and then became a para-professional for the South Bend Community School Corporation. 

David is survived by his domestic partner for the past 38 years, Bryan Dingler of South Bend; his children, Cameron and Lily McCann, both of South Bend; sister, Sue (Randy) Staton of South Bend; and two brothers, Daniel McCann of South Bend and Michael (Angie) McCann of Granger.  David is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

Sharing of memories will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.  Friends may visit with David’s family beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of David John McCann may be donated to ProMedica Hospice, 230 W.
