Dennis Allan Papczynski

Dennis A. Papczynski

July 7, 1948 - March 28, 2018

GRANGER - Dennis Allen Papczynski passed away peacefully, March 28, 2018, surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed, as he touched the lives of those around him. His generous heart and lively spirit will not be forgotten. He will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Denny was born July 7, 1948 to Alfred and Elizabeth Papczynski. He was the youngest of three children. Growing up, he had two older sisters, Donna and Marcy. He is a longtime resident of Indiana. He graduated from Clay High School in 1967, then went on to study business at Davenport University. Beyond the classroom, he was an all-time basketball champ in high school and college. He received several scholarships, eventually selecting Florence State University in Florence, Alabama, to play basketball, then continued his education at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After completing his education, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During his four years of service, he was stationed for two years at Camp Lejeune. He went on to marry Pamela Powell on Feb. 10, 1996. During the same year, he became a lifelong member of New Creation Fellowship. Eventually becoming an elder, his faith never wavered in his love for Jesus.

Returning home, Denny pursued a career in home improvement spanning over 45 years. He was a wonderful business owner at Michiana Window World, who loved and mentored everyone that worked for him. His goal was to help people and invest in the lives of others. He was a very generous man who cared more about giving than receiving. He lived a very full life, which included cookouts with friends, and surprising his family with tropical vacations. There is no other place he enjoyed more than being by the water. His most notable hobby was always fishing.

Denny was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Gonzales. He is survived by his sister, Marcy Boulicault of St. Louis, MO; his wife, Pamela Papczynski; his daughter, Kristi Papczynski; his sons, Zachary and Joshua Papczynski; his grandchildren, Maximus, Maddielynn, Lucy, and Luna Papczynski; his father-in-law, James Powell; his 20-year-old cat, Daisy; and his beloved Goldendoodle, Molly.
