MARC PETERSEN OBITUARY

March 18, 1950 - April 21, 2013
GOSHEN - Marc Reen Petersen, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, in his home at the age of 63. He was born March 18, 1950, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Lester and Violet Petersen. Formerly of Edwardsburg, Michigan,

Marc was a graduate of Clay High School and Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

On September 4, 1971, he married Mary Elizabeth Haynes. Surviving are his two sons, Scott of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Timothy of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his former spouse, Mary (Haynes) Petersen of Edwardsburg; a brother, Eric Petersen of Mishawaka; a niece, Anne Petersen, also of Mishawaka; a nephew, Brian Petersen of Goshen; and a grand-nephew, Eric Frickson.

Marc's working career was in the commercial printing industry, most of which was at the Petersen Printing Corporation, where he was heavily involved in printing sales and became President of the company in 1982. Later in his career, he was a sales consultant with other printing companies after Petersen Printing Corporation closed in 2003. Marc was a sports and recreation enthusiast, enjoying fishing, hunting, boating and running. He was an avid runner, competing in many races in the area. In high school, Marc was on the wrestling and swim teams, and since he did possess natural athletic ability, joined and played on the soccer team at Purdue. Bowling, softball and golf were sports of interest after college. Marc also enjoyed dogs, particularly his boxers. Marc will always be loved, and the memories gained with him will be cherished.

There will be no funeral services. Friends are welcome to visit with the Petersen family from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Thursday, May 2, 2013, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Marc may be donated to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
