Mary Ann Bokhart

NILES - Mary Ann Bokhart, 79, passed away on Monday, July 12th, in her home following a brief illness. Mrs. Bokhart was born on July 11, 1931, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Frank Murray and Marion Amelia (Barney) Lamson.

She graduated from Washington Clay High School in South Bend. Mary Ann had lived in her current home for 57 years. She had been employed at the former Rainbow's End Preschool in Niles. She was a charter member of the former Westminster Presbyterian Church and a current member of First Presbyterian Church, both in Niles. She enjoyed family activities including camping. On July 26, 1952, in Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, she married George Lawrence Bokhart, who preceded her in death on November 8, 1980.

Mrs. Bokhart is survived by their daughters, Debra (Geary) Yost of Kalamazoo and Elizabeth Collins of Niles; son, Joel (Rochelle) Bokhart of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; grandchildren, Elizabeth Sharpe, Jennifer Kruizenga, Laura Yost, Katie Fitzpatrick, Julie Collins, Shawn and Bridget Bokhart; five great-granddaughters; and a brother, Frank M. Lamson of South Bend.
