Trudy Wittmann (n‚e Fietzek) Trudy Wittmann, of Tacoma, WA died peacefully on January 6, 2016. She was 69 years old.

Trudy is survived by her husband Eugene of Tacoma as well as her son and daughter in law Jeremy and Lisa Wittmann of Round Lake Beach, IL. Additionally she is survived by her brother Dale Fietzek of South Bend, IN and Karen Linn of Aledo, TX. as well as a niece and a number of nephews.

Trudy was born February, 6th, 1946 to Leonard and Sylvia Fietzek in Chicago Illinois. The family moved to South Bend Indiana where Trudy spent most of her youth. Trudy moved back to Chicago as an adult where she met Eugene while working for Northwest Airlines. There they discovered their love of travel and for each other, they married on November 2nd, 1968. Trudy and Eugene traveled to many parts of the globe during their early years of marriage and continued that travel once Jeremy was introduced to the family in December of 1970. When an opportunity arose to be her own boss, Trudy took the opportunity to display her entrepreneurial spirit opened and operated a child daycare center called The Children's Manor.

Years later when she moved to the Seattle area, Trudy reignited her love of travel and entered back into the travel industry where she became a manager of a travel agency for the rest of her work career. She managed an office that primarily did travel for corporate clients. However, Trudy still lent a hand for family and friends to plan their vacations. In addition to her love of travel, Trudy had a passion for helping others. She was introduced to the world of woman's clubs while she still was in Illinois. She became a prominent member of the Winfield Junior Woman's Club and parlayed that into becoming a prominent member of the GWFC SOKICO Woman's club in the Seattle area where she took on leadership positions. Nothing made Trudy happier than to help those less fortunate. Trudy chaired multiple fundraising campaigns to help women and children including backpack and sock drives

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January, 13, 2016 at Bonney Watkins Funeral Home, 1535 SW Dash Point Rd, Federal Way from 10:00 am to 1:00pm immediately followed by a service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Trudy's life. A social celebration of Trudy's life will be scheduled sometime in the future. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to SOKICO Woman's Club.
