Sharon R. Marvin, 68, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:09 pm Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Memorial Hospital. She was born July 21, 1946 in South Bend to the late Francis "Paul" and Barbara (Bebee) Marvin, and remained a lifelong area resident.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Traci (Adam) Andrews of Mishawaka and Sara Marvin of South Bend; grandchildren Barbara, Olivia & Allyson Andrews and Sheri & Alyssa Whiting; great grandchildren, Sofia Jean Rose, Christian Anthony & Jaycee Omari G. Whiting; and brothers, Paul (Carol) Marvin of Monticello, IN and Ernest Dale (Vicki) Marvin of Grand Haven, MI. She is also survived by her best friend of over 50 years, Terri Nugent; her loving dog, Bailey; and a "special grandson", Jordan Felten. Sharon was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Mariela Estela Elyane Whiting.
Sharon worked as a distribution operator at Indiana Bell until retiring in August, 2005 after 25 years. She attended Community Congregational Church, where she was active as a secretary and clerk, and participated in the ladies auxiliary and choir. She was also a member of the Julianna Club and the Merry Go Round Bunco Club.
Memorial services for Sharon will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 2, 2015 in Community Congregational Church, 19671 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to services in the church on Monday. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Community Congregational Church or Memorial Hospital NICU, 615 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
