Roger L. Hestad of Granger, Ind., passed away on Friday, May 6, 2005 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind.
Roger was born on Dec. 1, 1934 in Colfax, Wisc., to Sam and Mildred (Wirth) Hestad who both preceded him in death along with his brother, Jim Hestad.
Surviving Roger is his wife of 48 years, Jane; children, Dawn Gillis of Mishawaka, Darlene (Jim) Lopez of South Bend, Pam Cauffman of Mishawaka, Eric Hestad of South Bend, grandchildren; Celena and Steve Lopez of South Bend, Kurt Cauffman of Mishawaka; a sister, Joan Roth of South Bend and brother Dennis (Linda) Hestad of Granger, a sister-in-law, Carol Hestad of Granger, Ind.
Roger enjoyed fishing and gardening, but most of all fast cars.
Due to Roger's wishes, there will be no viewing. Cremation has taken place. There will be a Memorial Service held at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 2 p.m. The St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road is handling the arrangements for the Hestad family.
