RICHMOND - Anna Lea Brown, age 86, of Richmond, and formerly of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on February 3, 2015, in her apartment.

She was born on May 6, 1928, to Orville and Ruby (Van Lue) Smith in South Bend, IN. Anna was a graduate of Clay High School in South Bend, attended Fort Wayne Bible College in Ft. Wayne and Bethel College in Mishawaka. Anna, along with her husband Rev. Harold A. Brown served as pastors of churches in Michigan, Indiana, Mexico and Nigeria and traveled extensively all over the world as missionaries training other pastors and leaders. They served as missionaries in Nigeria with the United Missionary Society, now called The Missionary Church of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and started an English speaking church in Mexico City. After that they served for many years with OMS out of Greenwood, Indiana. They served with Ambassadors for Christ for almost two decades. While he was a powerful speaker and loved to preach, Anna, on the other hand, was much quieter and dedicated hours to prayer. They lived to see people come to the Lord. She enjoyed reading Scripture and spending time with her family, which is spread all over the world. Her long prayer list had the names of every one of her descendants whom she loved and treated equally. Everyone who knew her loved her and appreciated the humility she vividly demonstrated.

She leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Arthur Smith; one sister, Marilyn Gorsline; three sons, Nathanael Albert Brown (Donna), Bartholomew Austen Brown (Rebecca), and Thaddeus Allen Brown (Martha); nine grandchildren, Maranatha, Charity, Jeremy, Benjamin, Sarah, Patches, Shannon, Ted, and Kenny; thirteen great- grandchildren, Nathan, Micah, Eli, Lydia, Evie, Lucia, Wesley, Cameron, Jayme, Dalton, Austen, Wyatt and Alex, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Harold A. Brown; her parents; one brother, Charles Smith; one sister, Carol Riggs; and one granddaughter, Bethany Brown.
