In Memory
Frederick Rowe DeFauw
Nov. 13, 1944 - Mar. 25, 2016
Frederick Rowe DeFauw was born Nov. 13, 1944 in South Bend, IN, to Arthur H DeFauw and Shirley Rowe DeFauw Chenoweth and passed on March 25, 2016, in Billings, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his sister, Melinda R. Maurisak; two nieces, Melissa Maurisak, and Jill Maurisak; a great-niece, Emma R. Maurisak and a nephew, Peter Maurisak of Granger, Texas.
Fred graduated from Northern Michigan University, Marquette, Michigan with a Bachelor of Science Degree and served in the United States Navy.
He was a Renaissance man, a self-proclaimed heretic, a scholar of literature, published author, artist, photographer, an accomplished and passionate fisherman with a love for golf and tennis. As a wine aficionado he graced the tables of his family and friends with the perfect wine to go with a fabulous meal. Above all, Fred loved life and made the most of it by living it one day at a time and believing tomorrow would take care of itself. He will be sorely missed by his family and a legion of friends.
A celebration of his life will be at 4 p.m., on Sunday, April 17, at The Garage at Yellowstone Valley Brew Pub. Please bring a picture of yourself and Fred to share.
