Terry Beryl Dokey

South Bend - Terry B. Dokey, 71, of South Bend, passed away on Friday January 9, 2015, in his home. He was born on October 7, 1943, in South Bend, to the late Orville Kenneth and Mary Maxine (Hoyt) Dokey.
On June 1, 1968, he married Nancy Kujawski, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Kimberly (Stephen) Sarasin of South Bend, Terry J. (April) Dokey of Fort Belvoir, VA and Tyler Russell of South Bend; grandchildren, Clarissa and Zoe Russell, Nicholas Sarasin, Felicia Dokey and Corynn (Dustin) Ledford; four great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Mary (Bill) Paulus of South Bend. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Rickey Dokey.
Terry worked for Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell, where he retired in June 2006, after 38 years of service. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, an avid football fan, especially Notre Dame and loved collecting stamps and working crossword puzzles. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, he will always be remembered for sitting on the rock at the end of his street with his youngest grandson.
A memorial service for Terry will be held at 1 pm Tuesday January 13, 2015, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
