Tara Lynne Francis

Tara Lynne Francis (Hair)

South Bend - Tara Lynne Francis (Hair) was born to Terry L. and Cindy (Clymer) Francis on June 12, 1968. She attended Clay High School and lived in South Bend most of her life.

She worked for Instant Lube even though she had been dealing with Scoliosis since mid-high school. She was then diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. Then, she had two strokes and was diagnosed with Factor V, a genetic blood disorder and a blood clot on the brain, which entitled her for Disability. In 2006, she suffered a massive heart attack on Thanksgiving Day and was in a coma for nine days. After a full recovery, she was on the mend again. WHAT A FIGHTER SHE WAS AND DETERMINED NOT TO LOSE THE BATTLE. Then in January of 2021, she needed to have a colostomy. Never really recovering from that surgery she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She kept telling everyone that she could fight this just like the problems prior. But within a few short months, she was unable to move her arms, hands, feet, and legs. She could only lie on her back in a hospital bed at home and sleep or cry out in pain. On the 12th of November, she lost her fight with cancer.

Tara loved to work on cars since she was very young. She used to help her dad build demolition cars. She could help the guys in the neighborhood fix their vehicles when they couldn't. And when she worked at Instant Lube, changing oil in client's cars, she could do anything that the guys could do, and even knew more than some of them. Also, SHE LOVED ELVIS! No one, and I mean no one, could sing better or look better than ELVIS.

Tara is survived by her parents and a daughter, Alyssa Hair (Nate); two grandsons, Jayce and Elliot; and one sister, Kristi Enyeart of South Bend. She is also survived by three nieces, five great nephews, a great niece, an aunt, six uncles and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kelly Carpenter and both sets of grandparents.

Services for Tara will be held at 11:00am Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Palmer Funeral Homes-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd, South Bend, IN 46635. Burial will immediately follow at St Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Rev. Ronald Drake will be officiating.
