MISHAWAKA - Joseph E. Dover Sr., 62, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 6:31 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Joseph was born on October 23, 1948, in South Bend, IN, to James F. and Erma K. (Ferguson) Dover.

On July 1, 1967, in South Bend, Joseph married Peggy A. Bucker. Peggy survives along with their children, J. Fred (Karen) Dover of Mishawaka, Joseph (Tina) Dover of Mishawaka, Chad (Chandra) Dover of Elkhart, IN, Marc (Jaime) Cote of Saco, Maine; eight grandchildren, Brenda (Ben) Eby, Daniel (Lisa) Dover, Hannah Dover, Chase Dover, Liberty Dover, Laney Dover, Breece Cote and Brady Cote; two great-grandchildren, Baelin Eby and Gunnar Eby; his siblings, Paul F. (Doris) Dover Sr. of Mishawaka, Al (Sandy) Dover of Mishawaka, Jerry E. (Joyce) Dover Sr. of Ocala, FL, Dorothy A. (Ted) Jachimiak of Ocala, FL, and Gloria Dover of Mishawaka. Many nieces and nephews also survive Joseph. Also surviving are his caregivers, Terry and Cherie Burke.

His parents, James and Erma Dover, two brothers, James P. Dover and Gary Dover, and one sister, Theresa Dover, have preceded Joseph in death.

Joseph graduated from Clay High School in 1966, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Honeywell (Bendix) in 2000 after 32 years of service. Joseph was an Usher Captain at Gate 3 at the University of Notre Dame for home football games. He loved watching movies and playing cards with family and friends.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m., with Jim Parrish officiating the services. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
