Geraldine L. Weikel

Geraldine L. Weikel, 82, of State Line Road in South Bend, Ind., formerly of Rex Street in South Bend, passed away in the Fountainview Place Nursing Home in Mishawaka, Ind., on Saturday, April 24, 2004.
Geraldine was born on Jan. 7, 1922, in South Bend, to August Bultinck Sr. and Irma Barrett. She retired from the former Robertson's Department Store as a clerk and in collections. On Sept. 9, 1950, Geraldine married Richard Weikel Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1982. A son, Richard Jr., preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1998, and also a sister, Ruth Bultinck.
Surviving are grandchildren, Paul Weikel of Sheridan, Wyo., Amanda Weikel, Sean Weikel and Emily Weikel, all of South Bend; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Weikel of South Bend; a sister, Clara Bultinck of South Bend; and a brother, August Bultinck of South Bend.
Geraldine was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, and was a volunteer at the Leighton Center and Memorial Hospital for many years. She had formerly belonged to Holy Cross Parish in South Bend.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, in Christ the King Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
