GRANGER - Peter Clay Bartuska, 64, of Granger, passed away in his residence on October 5th. Peter was born in South Bend on June 8, 1952, to the late James A. and Florence Caroline Bartuska. Peter was a graduate of Clay High School. He went on to proudly serve his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War Era, serving at the Grissom AFB, as a aircraft maintenance technician. He was honorably discharged in 1977. He was a member of the American Legion Post 303. Peter was always willing to help a friend in need, especially with building projects and car repairs. His dry sense of humor and smile will be missed by all who knew him.

Peter is survived by his brother, James A. Bartuska Jr., and his wife Lynn of Niles, Michigan; sister, Jan Williams Bartuska, and her husband Bill Combs of Auburn, California; and brother, George Bartuska, and his wife Janet of Lakeland, Florida. He also leaves behind nieces and nephew, Jamielynn Bartuska, Erin Bartuska and Benjamin Bartuska.

Military honors will be conducted graveside for Peter on Wednesday, October 19th, at 11:30 AM at the Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.

Peter's family would like to thank Firefly Nursing Services for their devoted care, especially Shelley, Natalie, Jacob, Dawn and Sue, also to the Center for Hospice Care, especially Tracey and Jamie, for being with us every step of the way. Last but not least a special thank you to Dr. Penrod and Les at the VA Clinic for their great care and compassion.
