Cynthia Bozenski (Ridout)

CYNTHIA (BOZENSKI) RIDOUT

Oct. 18, 1948 - Jan. 22, 2013
SOUTH BEND - Cynthia Ridout, 64, of South Bend, IN, passed into the loving arms of Jesus at her residence on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was born October 18, 1948, in South Bend, to Walt and June (Rohlfs) Bozenski, who survive. In addition to her parents of South Bend, Cynthia is also survived by two sisters, Pam (Frank) Nowicki of Lewisburg, PA, and Valerie (Dean) Hartke of South Bend; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

On July 21, 2007, Cynthia was married to Craig H. Ridout, who also survives.

She was a 1967 graduate of Clay High School, then studied seven years at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and IUSB. She worked at Martin's Supermarket in Niles, MI, in floral design for 13 years. She then worked at Martin's Portage and Elwood supermarket for two years in the deli department, after which she retired.

Cynthia was diagnosed with a serious disease in June 2011. She was given four to six weeks to live. But by the grace of God and Center for Hospice Care, she lived 19 months. She accepted Christ as her Savior at 14 years of age. She was baptized at Life Action Retreat in Buchanan, MI, on September 10, 2006. She attended and was married at Weko Beach by Pastor Ryan Yazel of Keller Park Community Church, South Bend, and then attended Bertrand Bible Church in Niles, MI, with her husband. She was an excellent example of God's grace, loving God with all her heart, soul and mind, and loving her neighbor as herself. She prayed continually for others, asking little for herself. Cynthia was a "jazz fanatic," loving the 60s and 70s era of modern jazz. She attended many local jazz concerts and venues with her husband, who is a saxophonist and piano tuner locally. She played saxophone in the Clay High School band. She loved dogs and cats (most recently her cat, Cinder, who was 16 years old and died November 6th) and was a member of ASPCA. She also loved Lake Michigan. Cynthia and Craig were extremely happy loving God, each other and music! They believe they were brought together by God for His Purpose and were blessed with five and a half wonderful years of marriage.

A memorial service for Cynthia will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 25, 2013, in the Bertrand Bible Church, SR 51 and Ontario Road, Niles, MI. Memorial contributions may be donated to Bertrand Bible Church, 1008 Ontario Road, Niles, MI 49120; or Center for Hospice Care, 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy, Suite 210, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the Ridout family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
