Penny Sheneman, 54, of Marquette Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, in her home.

She was born March 17, 1947, in LaPorte, Ind., and lived in this area most of her life.

Penny is survived by two daughters, Teri Piatt and her husband, Greg Reich of Boulder, Colo., and Wendie Piatt of Niles, Mich.; a son, Jerry (Pam) Piatt of Mishawaka, Ind.; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Piatt and Kenny Piatt, both of Mishawaka; and two sisters, Nancy Swartzendruber of Kalona, Iowa, and Patti Scott of Indianapolis, Ind.

Private services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 535 W. Edison, Unit #6, Mishawaka, IN, 46545; to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN, 46637-3437; or to the American Lung Association, 300 N. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601.

The St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements.
