Emerson B. Douglass, age 72, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Signature Health Care. Emerson was born October 31, 1942 in South Bend to the late Emerson and Eugenia Douglass.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne A. Worsham-Douglass in 2013 and his brother Walter Douglass. Surviving are his step-daughters Debby (Bob) Ditson of Edwardsburg, MI, and Penny (John) Wicker of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by his sisters Nina (Robert) Morgan of New York and Sharon Boyd of South Bend. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren; Aaron Ditson, Jon (Dustan) Ditson, Heather Ditson and Laila French, 5 great grandchildren Tristan, Aubrey, Tyler, Liam and Vanessa, 5 nieces and nephews, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew.

Emerson was employed for many years installing fiber optic lines for AT&T. He enjoyed fly fishing and watching football, and was also a longtime member of the Lions Club of South Bend.

There will be no visitation or services.

Elkhart Cremation Service is assisting with arrangements.
