Myrtle L. (Jackson) Shine

May 13, 1933 - May 18, 2018

KENNESAW, GA - Myrtle L. (Jackson) Shine, 85, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018. Myrtle resided with her daughter, Robin-Shine Davis for the past six years in Kennesaw, GA.

Myrtle was born on May 13, 1933 to the late Chofen and Frances Jackson in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Clay High School and worked as a den mother in a home for girls. She also worked for Gilberts Flower Shop.

She married the late Entee Shine on Nov. 8, 1953.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her siblings, Manuel Jackson, Fred Jackson, Eleanor Jackson, Melvin Jackson, David Jackson, and Mary Williams.

Myrtle is survived by two siblings, Marcus Jackson (Corrine) of Leawood, KS and Betty Hollingsworth of Hawthorne, CA; and two children, Michael Shine of South Bend, IN and Robin-Shine Davis of Kennesaw, GA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Robin's children, Brian Davis (GA), Jade Davis (FL), and Jacob Davis (GA) and Michael's children, Stefano, Paul, and David in Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and friends.

The “Going Home” Service will be on Saturday, June 2, 11:00 am at Allen Temple Church, 232 Arnold Mill Rd., Woodstock, GA 30188. The Repast will be held at the church following the burial.
