She was born Jan. 28, 1958, the daughter of the late Forrest Lee "Woody" Miller, a sports writer, and Judith Lynn Towner Miller who survives.
On May 29, 1979, she married James Lee Meyer, who survives.
Joyce was a graduate of Clay High School in South Bend, Ind. She attended William Woods College in Fulton, Mo.
Joyce enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, cooking, gardening, canning, camping and spending time with her menagerie of pets on her Parker farm where she and Jim enjoyed many happy years together. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting and was known for her many handmade gifts that she lovingly crafted for friends and family members.
She was a voracious reader and passed on her love of books to her children and grandchildren.
She loved children and served as a Cub Scout den mother and a Venango County 4-H leader. After raising her children, Joyce developed a passion for archery hunting. It was during one of those hunts that she died peacefully in the woods near her home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother Judy Miller; her son, James Eugene and his fiancée, Alissa Carter; her daughter Jennifer Russell and her husband, Sam; and, one of her greatest joys, her two grandsons, Augustus and Theodore Russell.
