Shirley (Sharpe) Desits

• April 12, 1935 - January 30, 2012

Shirley Desits, 76 of Mishawaka, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Shirley was born on April 12, 1935 in South Bend, IN to the late James Roy and Eleanor (Grimes) Sharpe. On July 8, 1998, as the former Shirley Sharpe she married Robert Desits in Mishawaka, IN Shirley and Robert were married for thirteen years. 

Shirley is survived by her husband Robert and their eight children, Debra (Michael) Klotz of Mishawaka, Rick (Sandra) Moreno of Vandalia, MI, Pamela (Robert) Querry of Mishawaka, Mindy (Charles) Koecke of Osceola, Valerie Moreno of Mishawaka, Danny (Shelly) West of Mishawaka, Christine (Todd) Lienenbach of Kansas City, MO and Kimberly Chadwick of South Bend. Shirley was a loving and caring grandmother to twenty three grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Three brothers, Jim (Terri) Sharpe of Granger, IN, Ronnie (Jeanie) Sharpe of Star, TX and Phillip Steery of South Bend, IN also survive Shirley. 

Shirley was a graduate of the Washington/Clay High School.

She retired from Solvay Automotive Factory as a Quality Control Inspector after twenty years of service. Shirley enjoyed doing arts & crafts. Shirley was a free spirit who loved and cherished her family most of all.

The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on today, February 1st at Bubb Funeral Chapel 3910 N. Main St Mishawaka. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday February 2nd with Pastor David Stauffer officiating at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend.
