Stephen “Steve” Szabo, a cherished brother and uncle, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023, at the age of 76. Born on November 2, 1947, to the late Illes and Olga (Kocsis) Szabo, Steve's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and passion.
He is remembered with deep affection by his family, including his three brothers, Illes Szabo of Mishawaka, IN, Jim Szabo of Fallbrook, CA, and Chris (Jan) Szabo of Caledonia, MS, and his devoted nieces and nephews, whose lives he greatly influenced with his kindness and care. Steve's love for his family and friends was the cornerstone of his life.
Those who knew Steve would describe him as loving, kind, and passionate—a man whose legacy will be carried forward in the hearts of those he touched. Steve lived life to the fullest and was the “life” of the party.
No services are being held but true to Steve’s quick wit and gift of gab, he asked to be cremated so he could “get used” to the heat.
Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545 is assisting the family with arrangements. Steve will be greatly missed, but his memory will forever be embraced with joy. Memorial contributions in Steve’s honor may be given to the American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
