Albert Lee "Chuck" Wiggins was born in Mishawaka, Ind., to the late George Albert and Hazel Marie (Bortner) Wiggins. He was a lifelong resident of the area. On December 5, 1948, he married the former Marian Louise Sones who preceded him in death Feb. 10, 2003.

He is survived by two children, Kenneth Wiggins of Osceola, Ind., and Karen (Greg) Hibiske of Wilmington, N.C. He was the loving grandfather of four grandchildren, Jennifer Wiggins, Joshua (Mary) Wiggins, David Hibiske and Aaron Hibiske; and one great-grandchild, Chloe.

Chuck is also survived by two brothers, Ted Wiggins of Niles, Mich., and John Wiggins of Lakeville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Dale Wiggins; and one sister, Marie (Wiggins) Goodwin.

Chuck was a longtime member of Harris Prairie Church of Christ and bowled on the Church league bowling team for 50 years.

He served in the U.S. Army. Born into a farm life, Chuck continued to farm up until the time of his death. Known as the "Last Grape Road Farmer", he farmed the land around Douglas Road and Main Street for the last 42 years. He was also employed by Studebaker Corp., and retired from Wheelabrator Frye.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2005, with Rev. Ed Erskin officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
