SOUTH BEND - Jeffrey Eric Hankins, 47, of South Bend, IN, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Elkhart General Hospital. He had been employed for 16 years with Foss Manufacturing, Elkhart. Jeff was born on September 15, 1961, in South Bend, IN, to Glenn C. and Phyllis (Blain) Hankins and was a lifelong resident.

On September 5, 1992, in South Bend, IN, he married Regina R. (Rosales) Hankins.

Along with his wife, Regina, he is survived by his daughter, Alexandra M. Hankins at home; his son, Andrew Jeffrey Hankins, at home; his mother, Phyllis Hankins; three brothers, Michael Hankins, Timothy (Lisa) Hankins and James (Jackie) Hankins; three sisters-in-law, Lisa (Darrell) Stump, Monique Rosales and Victoria (James) Moon; brother-in-law, Eric (Lisa) Rosales; nephews, Douglas Hankins, James G. Hankins, Anthony Moon and Blake Hike; and a niece, Madison Hike.

Jeff loved spending time with his family. His passion was fishing and he enjoyed fishing at Baldwin Lake. He was a member of Michiana Steelheaders and the Saugany Lake Conservation Club. Jeff's smile, his laugh and kind ways will always be remembered. He was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend. Jeff was a Clay High School graduate, class of '79.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 21st, in Palmer Funeral Home - River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Derrick Sneyd will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until time of services Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jeff Hankins may be made to the Regina Hankins family at any Notre Dame Federal Credit Union.
