DALLAS NEELY

Dallas M. Neely Aug. 2, 1938 - July 28, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Dallas M. Neely, 75, of South Bend, passed away at 8:00 am Monday, July 28, 2014, in his home surrounded by family. Dal was born on August 2, 1938, in Rupert, ID, the son of Orval and Hazel (Degenhart) Neely.

On April 23, 1960, he married Jeanne Vanderbosh. He is survived by his wife of 54 years; two sons, Kevin Patrick (Cathy) Neely, Sr. of Osceola and Christopher Sean Neely of South Bend; and two grandchildren, Mariah Paige Neely and Kevin Patrick Neely, Jr. He is also survived by a sister, Maureeta Caurro of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Neely.

Dal was a lifetime area resident, attending Washington-Clay High School. Following high school, he was graduated from Acme School of Tool & Die Design in South Bend. He worked for Wheelhorse/Toro for 42 years before his retirement in 2000. His love for the outdoors included fishing at Diamond Lake, searching for mushrooms and chipmunk hunting. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid Yankees and Notre Dame fan.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm Thursday, July 31, 2014, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to National Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 1691, Merrifield, VA 22116-1691.
