Brian M. Nelson, 46, of Granger. Ind., passed away following an extended illness at 5:35 p m Tuesday, Aug 21. in Memorial Hospital South Bend.  He was born on Sept. 21. 1954. to Richard R and Margaret T (Sulok) Nelson in South Bend. and was a lifelong area resident.

On June 12. 1974. he married Peggy J. Frederick in Christ the King Catholic Church. South Bend She survives He is also survived by three sons. Jeffrey M Nelson, Mark A. Nelson and Scott R. Nelson. all of Granger. his parents. Richard R. and Margaret T Nelson of South Bend. a sister. Lisa M (Ent) Karaman of Granger. and by a brother. Karl R (Mollie) Nelson of Granger.

Mr. Nelson graduated from Clay High School in 1972 and attended Indiana University at South Bend.

He enjoyed fishing and was an auto racing enthusiast He had been employed since 1972 with Nelson Fuel. Inc., in South Bend.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p m today, Aug 24. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 3.30 p m A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug 25, in Christ the King Catholic Church, with Rev Thomas J. Jones, C.S.C., officiating, Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
