ROBERT G. BINDER

Robert G. Binder Oct. 14, 1959 - Sept. 13, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Robert Binder, 55, passed away quickly, peacefully, and comfortably in his home early September 13th, 2015, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the youngest son of his surviving father, Mr. Fredrick A. (Terry Hinkle Binder) Binder, Jr. of South Bend and late mother, Mrs. Maryann E (Wagner) Binder.

Also preceding him in death is his brother, Fredrick A. Binder, III and sister, Susan R. (Binder, Hooley) Campbell.

Surviving him is the love of his life for 20 years, Sharon L. Terry, his two loving brothers, John J. Binder and Mikel A. Binder, and his amazing sister, Maryann (Binder) Horner. He is also leaving behind a long list of loving, supportive family members and friends.

Robert "Bobby" George Binder was named after his father's brother who is also Robert George Binder, who have always loved and supported each other over the last 55 years. "Bobby", as many of his friends knew him, was always a laid back fun-loving guy. To many, as well as himself, he was considered somewhat of a Superman. This was due to his amazing and incredible strength and will to overcome his leukemia when he was in his early 20's. Then his triumph over Hepatitis C which he obtained during his leukemia battle from a blood transfusion. This astonishing feature became present again when he began his battle with bladder cancer, which he beat only to have a short break until cancer moved back into his bones. He was an incredible man who loved to fish and could spend all day on the water with friends and family. He was a great hockey player while he was at Clay High School and played in many pool leagues.

He was an astonishing tool and die maker with the gift to build and create. He would always leave a postitive impression on anyone he met. The family would like to thank his best friend, Rob F. who was always there for him as well as the Center for Hospice Care for their comfort and care.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm with the funeral service Thursday at 11:00 AM all at McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13620 SR 23, enter off off Cherry Rd.
