Jon H. Arnold Nov. 3, 1945 - March 29, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Jon Harmon Arnold, 69, passed away unexpectedly on March 29, 2015, at his home. Jon was born on November 3, 1945, in South Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon W. Arnold and Marjorie Grace (Padgett).

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Cramer); a brother, Joel Arnold of Dayton, OH; and a sister, Jill Dacey (Ray) of Moscow, ID. Also surviving are brother-in-law, Dennis Cramer of Elkhart; nephews, Jason Arnold (Wendi) of London, OH, and Matt Dacey (Elizabeth) of Portland, OR; and nieces, Julie Jackson (Ken) of Beavercreek, OH, and Robin Dacey of New Orleans, LA.

Jon graduated in 1964 from Washington Clay High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball, and was awarded football MVP his senior year. He attended both Purdue University and IU South Bend, and was a pilot by trade. Jon flew for several local companies, and was Chief Pilot for the Bendix Corporation in South Bend before he retired.

Jon was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served two tours of combat duty in Vietnam. Jon was an avid golfer, along with his wife Carol, and played in many tournaments in the South Bend and southern Michigan area. He previously belonged to several golf clubs in the area, with the most recent being Blackthorn Golf Club. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving son, husband, brother, uncle and friend, and as a wonderful and dedicated fellow golfer to many.

Jon's wishes were to be cremated. No services are planned. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the Arnold family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
