Deborah Sue (Boyer) Singleton
March 06, 1953 — March 17, 2026
Deborah Sue “Deb” Singleton (Boyer), age 73, of South Bend, passed away on March 19, 2026, at her home with her husband by her side. Deb was born March 6, 1953, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to the late Earl Sr. and Joyce (Hunt) Boyer. Her family later moved to South Bend, where she graduated from Clay High School.
Deb spent many years working in research and development for Burcliff Industries in Mishawaka. She later met Lewis Singleton, and the two were married on June 23, 1984. For more than 41 years, Deb and Lewis were inseparable, sharing a life filled with love, laughter, and friendship. They enjoyed traveling together, especially attending clay pigeon trap shoots throughout the area, and Deb was rarely far from his side.
Deb loved crafting of all kinds, including needlepoint, latch hook, yard art projects she and Lewis built together, creating miniatures, and painting ceramics that her nieces would later sell. She was an avid NASCAR fan, faithfully following Kyle Busch and Rusty Wallace and keeping track of every race. Deb also enjoyed watching football, especially cheering on the Chicago Bears, as well as spending time with the Game Show Network, reading, and working on crossword puzzles and sudoku. Known for her fun-loving personality, Deb had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious smile, and above all, a deep love for her family.
Deb is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Singleton of South Bend; her siblings, Jerry (Martha) Boyer of Ft. Worth, Texas, Mike (Shelly) Boyer of South Bend, and Christine Thompson of Argos, Indiana; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Boyer Jr. and Kenneth “Kenny” Boyer.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Wells and Cruz Family Funeral home of Mishawaka with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, Deb will be laid to rest at Bremen Cemetery.
In her memory, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or Comfort One Hospice.
