School Stories V1

Married Ernestine E Stuck in 1961. We moved to Arizona in 1962. We were married until she died in September 2018. I worked in food service for several years before I went to work in banking in both Indiana and Arizona. I was asked to apply for a newly opening job in a state agency as a trannie in their information processing area. They provided training and at the start of the conversion from a card processing to a mainframe computer system. I did everything from programming to application design to mainframe operating system software installation and upgrades to include on-line application design and interface to other agencies to system security.

Married, moved to Colorado, raised 3 kids, worked at insurance companies, divorced, moved to Arizona, home maintenance company, caregiver, moved back to Colorado.  Also 7 of my cars have been run into over the years with me being in 6 of them. One of them was totaled in 2005 which gave me a broken leg. The second one totaled was in Sept of 2018 that I am still recovering from. So, currently I am retired and resting in Phoenix for a few weeks.

I lived in South Bend until 1975 when we moved to Greeley, CO. I raised my children there, with my sons still living in the Denver Area. I have two grandchildren and two great grandchildren there. My daughters moved to Arkansas with me in 1990 to help take care of my dad after my mother passed. Lisa now lives close by with her 3 children and 2 grandchildren; Lori lives in Illinois with her oldest daughter and 2 granddaughters. Her son lives very close to me with his little girl that he has raised since she was 2 weeks old. Her younger daughter lives in South Carolina with her little sweetheart daughter. I worked for many years in the hospital at Greeley and enjoyed the jobs that I had there. I worked the admitting department, ER department, Birthing Center, Insurance Billing, Credit Office...It was my home. Several jobs with other hospitals and banks and home health later, I am now retired (?) working occasionally for my daughter with her document scanning business. I love the travel and honestly enjoy the work. I have a wonderful husband, Royce McClure, who came along after my husband, James Handley, passed away. We live out by the river on 160 of land homesteaded by his grandfather back in 1892. He has one son and 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. It is a good life. How do you describe 60 years after graduation? I say it has been quite a journey, both blessed and some very bad. But I would not change it and hope that the rest of my life is as happy as now. And I am proud to have been a COLONIAL!!!
