Robin "Gator" Laughlin

SOUTH BEND - Mr. Robin "Gator" Laughlin, 54, passed away Friday, July 19th at 12:05 PM in his residence. Robin was born on October 3, 1958 in South Bend, IN to Richard L. and Mary Jo (Deneen) Laughlin.

Mr. Laughlin was very well known in the South Bend area. He worked as a self-employed carpenter.

On May 25, 2002 in South Bend, he married the former Denise M. Hartleb, who survives. He worked as a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Laughlin is also survived by his father, Richard Laughlin and step-mother, Myrna L. Laughlin of South Bend; one step-daughter, Christine M. (Tommy) Kunish of Jacksonville, NC; two sons, Joshua L. Laughlin and Adam L. Laughlin, both of South Bend; one step-son, Aaron F. Gingrasso of South Bend; one sister, Kelly A. Laughlin of South Bend; four grandchildren, whom he loved and cherished; and his mother-in-law, Marcia Hartleb of South Bend. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo Laughlin in January 1975. 

When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I will remember the love that we have shared and that will comfort thee. 

Robin loved woodworking, and was a fan of all sports. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs. He was also a United States Army Veteran who was proud to have served his country. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather and will be missed dearly by his loving family.

There will be no visitation or services. Robin's wishes were to be cremated and his family has honored those wishes. Cremation has taken place. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. at 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Laughlin family. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 24 at 9:30 at Little Flower Catholic Church with Mass at 10:30, followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
