Gerrianne "Gerri" (Ralstin) Lakes

Gerrianne “Gerri” Lakes, age 66, passed away on February 5, 2026, in her home surrounded by family. Gerri dedicated her life to serving others—through her work at an insurance company, her years as an elementary school cafeteria worker, and her time as a devoted caregiver for senior citizens. Her kindness, warmth, and compassion touched countless lives.
She was born on March 24th, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a daughter of late Donald “Gene” Ralstin and Deloris Ralstin (Manning).
Gerri’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Joel Lakes and Stacey Raouf (Chris), and by her beloved grandson, Aden Lakes, who brought endless light into her life. She is also survived by her siblings, Bill Ralstin (Vicki) and Karen Campbell (John), along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Judy Vavul (Mike), with whom she longed to be reunited with. It brings comfort to imagine them welcoming her with open arms.
Gerri will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her generosity, and the way she made others feel seen, valued, and cared for. Yellow, the vibrant color of sunshine, was her favorite hue, and she reveled in basking in its warmth. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of everyone she touched.
In accordance with Gerri’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Arrangements for a celebration of her life are being planned for a future date.
