David Allen Shaul
June 20, 1949 ~ April 11, 2026 (age 76)
David Allen Shaul, 76, of Niles, MI, passed away at 7:53am on Saturday April 11, 2026, in his home with his loving wife near him. Born on June 20, 1949, in South Bend, IN, David was the son of Brandt and Evelyn (Burg) Shaul. He built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a passion for the things he loved most.
David graduated from Clay High School in 1968.
David was the proud owner of US 31 Electric Supply, a business he started in 1972 by clearing the land, building a small house and through determination and commitment, he grew it into one of the largest showrooms in the area, remaining actively involved for over 50 years. His work was not just a career, but a legacy he truly built from the ground up.
On August 11, 2000, David married Christine (Good) Shaul, who survives. He is also survived by daughters, Audrey (Dustin) Goddard and Jennifer Overgaard; son, Thomas Overgaard; grandchildren, Nick, Christian, Andy, Kinsley, and Jeremine; brother, James (Kathy) Shaul; nephews, Ryan (Felicia) Shaul, and Corey Shaul; and sister-in-law, Helen Shaul. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Shaul.
He had a deep love for life and adventure. An avid sportsman, David enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he traveled extensively, including safaris and cruises throughout Europe. He had a passion for cars—especially Corvettes, Vipers, and Mercedes—and loved attending car shows. He also enjoyed motorcycles and treasured time spent at his happy place in the Upper Peninsula. Above all, David loved his wife and family and cherished traveling with them, creating lasting memories together. During his high school years, he was a proud member of the Sea Scouts.
