Chris "Jerry" Shreve
December 27, 1975 ~ November 01, 2025 (age 49)
Chris “Jerry” Shreve, 50, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on November 1, 2025. Born and raised in South Bend, Jerry spent his life surrounded by the people and places he loved most.
Jerry was the son of Chris and Helen. He shared a very special bond with his parents — fishing with his dad, gardening with his mom, and finding comfort, laughter, and understanding in their company. Their love for him never wavered, and he cherished them deeply throughout his life.
He is also survived by his four children — Elizabeth, Hannah, Jacob, and Abigail — as well as six grandchildren who will carry his spirit forward. Jerry is survived by his brother, Mark (Michelle) Shreve, and his sister, Shannen (Kevin) McKasckle — along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was charismatic, funny, giving, and always the best dressed in the room. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease. A talented body man, Jerry spent many years doing auto body work — something he truly loved and was exceptionally skilled at. His heart was big, his presence unforgettable, and his love for his family was always there, even when life made it complicated.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that contributions be made toward supporting his children and grandchildren, who will continue his story with love and strength. A celebration of life in Jerry’s honor will be held sometime in near future, details to come.
As the Grateful Dead would say — “What a long, strange trip it’s been.”
