Larry Robert Lemke

September 19, 1941 ~ May 11, 2025

Larry Robert Lemke, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at the age of 83 in Granger, IN.

Born on September 19, 1941, in South Bend, IN, Larry's journey through life was marked by his kindness, his friendly disposition, and his deep love for his family and friends.

Graduating from Clay High School in 1960, Larry's early years set the stage for a life characterized by dedication and hard work. He spent a remarkable 25 years at Jordan Ford in Mishawaka, where he honed his skills and cultivated lifelong friendships. Later, Larry brought his strong work ethic to the Greater Mishawaka Auto Auction, where he continued to build relationships until his retirement in 2020.

Larry was an avid boater, relishing the time spent on the waters of Lake Michigan. His love for automobiles was more than a career; it was a lifelong enthusiasm that he shared with everyone he knew. A true sports fan, Larry enjoyed watching all sports, but his heart was with Notre Dame Football, following their games with pride and dedication.

Above all, Larry was a family man. He is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Lemke, and son, Larry Lemke. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Trevor Krieg (Melissa), Mackenzie Swims (Coleton), Will Krieg, Seth Lemke, Zoe Lemke, and Wyatt Lemke, and he was blessed with one great-grandchild, Carter Krieg. Each of them will carry forward the love and spirit that Larry instilled in them.

Those who knew Larry would describe him as loving, kind, and friendly. He was the sort of person who would greet you with a smile and leave you with a feeling of warmth and camaraderie. As we bid farewell to Larry, we celebrate a life richly lived and profoundly cherished. His memory will be a beacon of love and kindness that will continue to guide and inspire his family and friends. Larry Lemke lived a life that was full, vibrant, and touched by the beauty of everyday moments. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him.

Larry's life story is not merely one of personal accomplishment but a narrative of the relationships he nurtured and the lives he enriched. As we reflect on his journey, we find comfort in the knowledge that his legacy is etched into the lives of his family and the countless friends who were fortunate to experience his generous spirit.

In the quiet moments, by the calm waters he so loved, we will remember Larry. In the cheering stands of a Notre Dame game, we will feel his presence. And in the simple acts of kindness that we extend to others, we will honor his memory. Larry Lemke's life was a beautiful mosaic of love, friendship, and passion, and it is with profound gratitude that we celebrate the time we shared with him.
