Joe Leo Martin Muellner
October 19, 1943 ~ November 20, 2025 (age 82)
Joseph Leo Martin Muellner, 82, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at his home in Granger, IN. He was born in South Bend, IN on October 19, 1943.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Lisa Lobel of Granger, IN; his brother, Michael Anthony Muellner of TX; his nephews, Jacob and Macey Muellner; his niece, Antoinette Wawrzyniak; and his great-nephew, Maverick Scheibelhut. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; Michael and Antoinette (Trovatore) Muellner and his sister; Rosemary McPherson.
He worked as a gifted chemical engineer. He found joy and camaraderie in competition shooting. The open waters brought him peace and happiness, as boating was one of his treasured hobbies. A man of many talents, Joseph also played the accordion and keyboards, filling the air with music that resonated with the hearts of those who listened. Wine making was a passion of his. He collected his own grapes every year to create his wine which was an annual event that took place for many generations. He was a member of the Bend of the River Conservation Club, Elks, and Moose.
Joseph will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the memories of his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Monday, November 24, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, IN with a visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Homes ~ Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
