SOUTH BEND - Robert J. Blake, 41, of 508 Lindsey St.. died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical. Center after an illness.

Mr. Blake was a self employed painter and musician. He was born on Apr 11, 1952, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by his parents, Geraldine R. and James R. Blake of South Bend; a sister, Janice R. Carlson of South Bend; and a brother, William J. of Valparaiso.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a graduate of Clay High School.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Room of the church
