Tihessia Lavette Neely

January 23, 1972 ~ March 10, 2026 (age 54)

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Tihessia LaVette Neely peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father after a brief illness. She was born on January 23, 1972, in South Bend, Indiana, to James Neely and Ernestine McGee; they both preceded her in death.

Tihessia received her early education in the South Bend Community School system and proudly graduated from Clay High School in 1990. With determination and a love for learning, she continued her education at Ivy Tech Community College – South Bend, earning an Associate’s Degree in Accounting.

A dedicated and respected employee, Tihessia served faithfully as the Environmental Support Services Supervisor at The Sanctuary at Holy Cross. Her work ethic, compassion, and steady leadership made her an invaluable part of the Holy Cross family.

Tihessia found love in life’s simple pleasures — a good book, a sweet treat (especially anything chocolate), a cold Pepsi, and the warmth of family gatherings. But above all, her greatest love was for family. Known for her kindness, generosity, and quiet strength, Tihessia was the rock of her family. She was the core, the steady place, the guiding presence whose love shaped and supported those she held dear. Her life was a testament to compassion, loyalty, and the beauty of a gentle spirit.

Tihessia leaves to cherish her loving memory, her brothers Michael Neely, James Neely Jr. and Eric Small, her sisters Katrina Neely, Shamekka Neely, Monica Neely, Zena Neely and Victoria Small. She also leaves behind, her nieces Dominique Works, Jamekka Headspeth, Erica Small, Dalana Small, Sarina and Carina Buchanan; her nephews, Darrius Works, DaShawn Works Jr., Charles Headspeth and Jayvon Headspeth; four great nieces, DaNyrah, Nola, Sahnyrah and Mena; two great nephews Dredyn and DeShawn III; five aunts, Alice McGee, Doris McGee,  Mary Ann McGee Flowers, Brenda McGee and Shirley Faye Brooks; three uncles Hose McGee, Richard McGee and Jeffery Brooks; special great aunt, Lena Poindexter, along with other relatives, friends and co-workers.

Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by a niece, Tru Love Works; her maternal grandparents, Rosella Brooks and Ernest McGee; paternal grandparents, Everett and Lucille (Wheels) Neely and several aunts and uncles.

Tihessia was dearly cherished and her gentle spirit touched every life she encountered. The memory of her kindness, love, and generosity to everyone will forever remain a blessing.
