Sharon Sue (Carter) Scott, 45, of White Oak Drive. Mishawaka, Ind., died on Tuesday, Sept. 8, in her residence.

She was born on Feb. 12, 1953, in South Bend, Ind., to Orthul E. and Marian A. (Thompson) Carter, who both survive and reside in South Bend. Mrs. Scott is also survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Allison and Megan Kathleen Scott, both at home; a sister, Julie Ann Carter of Manistee, Mich.; and by a brother, Bruce Carter of Elkhart, Ind. 

She was a Sunday School teacher and deacon at the Pleasant Valley United Church of God in Osceola, Ind. She was the recipient of the Outstanding Young Women of America Award in 1987, the Clean Air Award-South Coast Air Quality Management District in 1988, and the Outstanding Service Award-Senior Citizens of Azusa, Calif.

Memorial services for Mrs. Scott will be at 2 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Mike Cain will conduct the memorial service.
