Christopher J. Sharp

Christopher J. Sharp, 64, of Lakeville passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2025, at the Center for Hospice-Raclin House in Mishawaka after a long bout with Kidney disease (CKD).

Chris was born in South Bend on August 1, 1961, to the late Merle C. and Kathleen (James) Sharp. After graduating from Clay High School, Chris achieved a 2-year Associates Degree (AA) from Holy Cross, then a BA in Liberal Arts from Indiana University (IUSB).

Chris spent his life in many roles, including swimming pool installation and service, golf course landscape maintenance and whole house inspections, but the one he found the most joy from was being a handyman - helping others with landscape work, home cleaning, organizing and fixing most home-related items, including plumbing, electrical, masonry, decks, drywall and painting.

Chris enjoyed weightlifting, basketball and also watching most sports, but with a focus on football, auto racing and especially hockey. He also spent much time taking care of his own home, yard and Dodge Ram pickup truck.

He is survived by his brothers, Timothy Sharp of South Bend and Merle Sharp Jr. of Daykin, Nebraska. Chris was preceded in death by both of his parents, Merle C. Sharp, MD and Kathleen J. Sharp, who he lived with and helped take care of until their passing in 1989 and 2021, respectively, and his brother, Jeffrey A. Sharp, of Indianapolis, Indiana. In keeping with his wishes, no services are planned at this time.
