Gary Thomas Peterson

SOUTH BEND - Gary Thomas Peterson, 59, of Queens, NY, formerly of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly May 7, 2017.
He was born on January 16, 1958 in South Bend to Joan (Dillman) and the late Richard Peterson. Gary graduated from Indiana University in 1992 with a Master of Business Administration and was an accomplished sales executive. He lived in the Midwest and South Carolina for most of his life. After moving to Queens, NY in 2016, Gary began a new life with his loving wife, Marcia. He was an active member in his community and a long-time supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . In his spare time he enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Gary was a mentor to many people throughout his life and will be admired and remembered as a father, husband, brother, son and friend.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his children, Stephanie and Ryan, both of Charlotte, NC and Leah Roller of Indianapolis, IN. Other surviving family includes sisters, Susan (Jim) Hodge of Pekin, IL, Karen (Robert) Casto of New Carlisle, IN and Gayle (Tony) Sleath of Novi, MI; brothers, Keith (Amy) Peterson of Dayton, OH, Steve (Christine) Peterson of Savage, MN, and Brian (Jenny) Peterson of South Bend, IN; and, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. The family will receive friends from 10-11am at the church, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org) or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
