Bonnie S. (Gay) Glaspie

Bonnie S. Glaspie, 61, of South Bend, passed away 3:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2005, in her home. Bonnie was born on June 11, 1944, in Elkhart, IN, to Russell and Cora Bell (Chaffee) Gay.

She was employed by Memorial Hospital for twenty-five years, working as an O.R. Tech. On November 26, 1981, in South Bend, she married R.L. Glaspie, who survives. Also surviving are her father and step-mother, Russell and Donna Gay of Mishawaka, IN; two daughters, Barbara Scanlan of South Bend, IN and Angelic (Dennis) Paden of South Bend, IN; one son, Jim (Michelle Horvath) Niedbalski of South Bend, IN; three grandchildren, Kristina Carlson, Shane Niedbalski, and Nick Scanlan; three sisters, Russella (Earl) Carter of Niles, MI, Wynnelle (Fred) Vaughn of South Bend, IN, and Betty (Allen) Gearhart of Mishawaka, IN; one step-brother, Dennis Wilson of Elkhart, IN; three sister-in-laws, Brenda (Billie) Allen of Mississippi, Arfredda (Arthur Lee) Penson of Mississippi, and Dorothy Lee (James) Connor of Mississippi; and two brother-in-laws, Steve Glaspie of South Bend, IN, and Durell (Oramae) Glispie of South Bend, IN.

Preceding her in death were her mother and step-father, Cora Bell and Chuck Holy, and one grandson, Gregory Allen Niedbalski.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2005, in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m., Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday in the church. 

Bonnie was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and the Mass Choir.

She had attended Clay High School and enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football. Condolences may be sent to Kaniewski.com
